Fortuitous Foodies | Dallas Bloggers | Travel Tastemakers & Foodcation Experts
Welcome to Fortuitous Foodies! We are thrilled to share our passion for all things food, wine and travel with you! We’re sisters who love getting together to enjoy a good meal, whether we’re cooking at home, exploring new restaurants, or enjoying our tried and true foodie favorites. We also love to travel whenever the opportunity arises; experiencing new cultures and local cuisine gives you a fresh perspective on life and broadens your horizons!
Growing up in a military family, we moved around quite a bit. Although moving every few years was challenging, it definitely solidified our sisterly bond and strength as a family. Additionally, this early exposure to travel sparked a love for the open-road and for new experiences. We had the opportunity to live in Texas, Kansas, Washington, Virginia, and Hawaii! We’ve been hooked on exploring the rest of America and beyond ever since.
With both of our parents working long hours while we were growing up, dinner was always a time when we all sat down together around the table. These treasured times are part of the reason we have such a strong love for cooking and all things culinary. What’s also unique is that our dad is the big cook of the family! We have a running joke that our mom’s specialty dish is scrambled cheese eggs because she literally is lost when it comes to anything in the kitchen (although she’s an amazing pediatrician and advocate for military children and families so we will give her a pass). It was our dad who sparked our love for cooking and taught us the basics of whipping up delicious meals. It’s also what inspired Emily to go on to pursue a culinary degree from the Culinary Institute of America in San Antonio.
We started this blog as a way to share all of our creative culinary creations, restaurant reviews and travel experiences with the world. We believe that food and travel is something that should be savored and shared, preferably with the ones you love! Check back frequently for new posts and enjoy!
Cheers!
