Alderbrook Hotel Review

On a recent trip to Washington, we stayed at Alderbrook Resort for several nights and absolutely fell in love with the gorgeous scenery and relaxing accommodations. The resort was founded in 1913 and has been an area staple ever since. It is perfect for a relaxing couples getaway or even a fun family vacation.

The resort is nestled along the Hood Canal and is surrounded by the regal Olympic Mountains, making for an exceptionally stunning backdrop.

The Food:

Being foodies, it is always important that we have access to delicious culinary options wherever we stay. The restaurant at Alderbrook did not disappoint. The restaurant offers a “Shore to Table” dining experience that focuses on making local seafood the star of the menu. Much of the seafood is harvested from the Puget Sound and Hood Canal fresh daily.

The restaurant also has a nice wine selection, featuring many wines from the Pacific Northwest. Both the restaurant and bar boast immaculate views of the Hood Canal, perfect for basking in the gorgeous scenery and enjoying the sunset.

We were pleased to find a variety of healthy options on the restaurant’s menu. We love to start the morning off right with a delicious yogurt parfait topped with granola and fruit.

The restaurant’s lunch and dinner options were on-point as well. Below is the Hummus Plate with grilled pita, marinated feta, mixed olives, cured tomatoes, and pickled vegetables.

The Chopped Cobb with iceberg & romaine lettuce, bleu cheese, cured tomatoes, poached egg, dungeness crab, prawns, and champagne vinaigrette was perfect for lunch and fueled our late-afternoon activities.

Grab a night-cap from the hotel bar and curl up with your loved-ones by the outdoor fireplaces as the warmth and light from the fire are perfect for creating memories around. Don’t forget to grab a s’mores kit from the hotel restaurant to take your fire-pit experience to the next level! You’ll feel like you’re camping out under the stars, but with the comfort of knowing your luxuriously appointed guest room is awaiting your return once you’ve had your fill of fireside cocktails and s’mores.

You’ll will not be at a loss of things to do at the resort, as the activity list is endless! The resort offers a variety of lawn games, such as croquet, badminton, volleyball, and Frisbee.

Being located on the beautiful Hood Canal, the resort also has various water activities, to include swimming, kayaking, paddle boating, fishing, crabbing, seal watching, and boating. And no trip would be complete without a dip in the glass-enclosed waterfront heated saltwater indoor pool over-looking the Hood Canal.

For the golf enthusiasts, the Alderbrook Golf Club is located near the resort and consistently ranks as one of the top 25 courses in the Northwest for play-ability and the beautiful scenery. You can also reserve the outdoor tennis courts through the front desk of the resort if you’re feeling extra active!

Always loving to be pampered, we especially enjoyed the resort’s spa and found it to be extremely relaxing and rejuvenating.

Overall, we cannot recommend Alderbrook Resort any more highly! If you’re considering a trip to the Washington Pacific Northwest, then definitely consider booking a few nights here.
