Embracing Selfcare With Nubian Heritage

Our Wellness Journey + Clean Skincare Products We Love

We’re all in when it comes to wellness, especially with the major life events that have happened to us over the past year, including; pregnancy, birth of our babies, and postpartum thyroid issues.

Now, more than ever, it’s incredibly important for us to be eating clean, being more mindful and making sure the products we use on our skin and in our home don’t contain harsh, toxic chemicals. We’ve been focusing on cleaning up our skincare routine and have new favorite products, which is why we’re excited to share with you one of our new very favorite non-toxic skincare brands, NUBIAN HERITAGE!

Nubian Heritage Skincare

Reasons to love Nubian Heritage

  • they have a beautiful, heart warming story that we love sharing and supporting
  • they bring healing traditions of African Black Soap and Shea Butter to more people and in turn better communities
  • they invest in female entrepreneurs, that in turn, helps transform communities through commerce
  • they celebrate their heritage and use their knowledge of culturally authentic healing traditions to create natural skin and body treatments that work

We’re currently using their African Black Soap Collection and are highlighting our favorite items below:

Besides their website, and Amazon, you can also pick up Nubian Heritage at your local Sprouts Farmers Market – our go to for all things organic, delicious and curated with wellness in mind!

Nubian Heritage Skincare

We’ve been using the Targeted Exfoliant Spot Treatment for those pesky hormonal breakouts and the Balancing & Clarifying Mud Mask once a week to keep for an extra deep clean.

Nubian Heritage Skincare

We love that the clarifying mud mask draws out dirt and congestion from pores while absorbing excess oil and improving the appearance of our skin. African Black Soap soothes and balances while removing excess dirt and oil. Plus, it smells amazing and is so creamy!

Nubian Heritage Skincare

Our skin is our largest organ and it absorbs what we put on it so let that sink in! Did you know that certain chemicals and ingredients can disrupt hormones and contain potential carcinogens? Yikes! More reason to swap dirty products out for cleaner ones ASAP!

How do you know if your skincare and beauty products contain harmful ingredients? We like to use Think Dirty App and EWG‘s Healthy Living App. They’re both incredibly helpful and a fantastic resource when you’re buying new products and needing to discover more clean options. Nubian Heritage receives safe, clean scores with many of the products falling in the 0 – 1 range, which is great!

How are you incorporating wellness rituals into your weekly routine? We’d love to know in the comments below.

Cheers!
