Pagua Bay House Boutique Hotel Review | Dominica
We stayed at Pagua Bay House the latter part of our Dominica island trip and really enjoyed ourselves. The views were stunning looking out over the beautiful Pagua Bay. The hotel’s construction was modern with clean lines and wonderful amenities. Our room felt like a mini spa! We stayed in the Ocean Suite with a deep soaking bathtub. The bathroom was the most impressive part with an open walk-in slate rain shower, spa worthy bath products, amazing soaking tub and super comfortable robes. We also loved the our private outdoor area, where we were able to wake up and do yoga while watching the sunrise. Amazing! Activities include hiking to your hearts delight, exploring rivers, waterfalls and hot springs and the diving is fantastic too. Pick Dominica for an unique eco tourism experience!
Right this way to Pagua Bay House!
Eco chic cabanas complete with hammock and open air lounge areas.
Stunning views wherever you turn.
The staff at Pagua Bay House were incredibly kind and since we were the only ones staying there at the time they showed us all of the rooms and let us pick which one we would like to stay in! This is the Ocean Suite with private plunge pool. Love it!
Yoga in the privacy of our own suite!
We loved relaxing by their pool and listening to the waves roll in.
They even had a Pagua Bay House pup who loved to come and lounge with us too!

The hotel’s food was fresh and delicious.
… and the coffee was great as well.
Here’s a view of our room at night. Beautiful!
Love making new friends on our travels 🙂
Fresh seafood for dinner.
I highly recommend the coconut punch to enjoy while hanging out by the pool and they also have a nice selection of wine to go along with dinner.
The picture of relaxation. It’s even pretty when it’s raining.

If you’re looking to get off of the grid, unwind and unplug Dominica is the place for you. Pagua Bay House provided us with that and more! One thing to note is safety, there was a guard there 24/7 but when I asked if we needed something at night who to call the manager said that she wouldn’t be there so to get the guard if there was an emergency. This did make us a bit uneasy, especially with cell phone reception not being the best, but everything ended up being fine. That being said, the owners were out of town and it was low season when we visited.
Have you been to Dominica? Where’s your favorite island in the Caribbean? Favorite place to stay? We’d love to hear your feedback!
Happy Travels,
Emily & Barbara
