The Ambiance

We recently had the most festive and enjoyable brunch at Edith’s French Bistro in Mockingbird Station! The atmosphere at Edith’s is warm and inviting. It makes the perfect place for a leisurely weekend brunch, coffee date, or early dinner. As the name indicates, all of the menus at Edith’s French Bistro are brimming with true French inspiration. It includes classic French dishes to exquisite French pastries. Natural light floods the beautiful space, enveloping the rustic French country decor with a cheery warmth that makes you want to linger.

Edith’s brunch menu is absolutely delightful, brimming with many mouthwatering options that made it quite hard for us to choose what we wanted. No matter what you order, you must save room for some of Edith’s famous French pastries!

Drinks

For drinks, we’d recommend partaking in the $3 Mimosas and Rosé, which we’ll definitely do after the babies have arrived! Edith’s also offers delicious freshly squeezed orange juice and specialty coffees like the cappuccino pictured above.

The Holidays can be such a joyous but busy time, so it was a nice change of pace to take a break from all the Christmas shopping at Mockingbird Station (found so many fantastic gifts!) and enjoy a relaxed brunch with our husbands. They loved the range of options on Edith’s brunch menu as well, especially the more hearty and savory selections.

The Food

Having studied abroad in Paris, Emily has always had a passion for all things French, so brunching at Edith’s had her reminiscing fondly about her Parisian culinary adventures and time spent exploring France. Visiting Edith’s French Bistro is like escaping to a heavenly slice of Paris in the heart of Dallas. Edith, the bistro’s namesake, is professionally trained in the art of French pastry making, having learned from a French master pastry chef. So whatever you do make sure when dining at Edith’s, you save room for her divine and delicious pastries!

We decided to order a variety of dishes from the brunch menu to share so we could experience as much as Edith’s has to offer. First, we ordered the savory Short Rib Hash with roasted vegetables, braised short ribs, and a sunny side up egg to top it all off.

Next, we tried the Raclette, a traditional French dish made with roasted potatoes, lardon, scrambled eggs, ham, and melted Raclette cheese. A delicious choice!

Short Rib Poutine

The Short Rib Poutine was a savory dream, made with mozzarella curds, braised short ribs, and a Cabernet demi glaze. Craving this dish as we type!

Knowing that croissants are one of Edith’s specialties, we had to order the Egg on Croissant Sandwich and of course we added bacon! The croissants at Edith’s are light, buttery perfection and the biggest we’ve ever seen!

Soft Scramble

We also tried the Soft Scramble made with organic eggs, fresh herbs, and cheese served with a baguette for dipping. Soft scrambled eggs are one of our favorite breakfast items that aren’t found on many menus. So simple, yet so delicious!

Dessert

Brunch would not have been complete without trying a Crepe from Edith’s Crepe Station! Although they all looked quite tempting, the Banana Foster immediately caught our eye. The Banana Foster Crepe is made with caramelized bananas and nutella and topped with vanilla ice cream. It was worth all of the calories! So good!

Finally, we couldn’t leave without trying something from the pastry case, so we picked Edith’s famous Oatmeal Pie – a truly unique dessert! The Oatmeal Pie itself was decadent and totally indulgent and it was topped with the most delicious cinnamon ice cream that took the whole dessert to another level. It was the perfect ending to our festive holiday brunch!

Leisurely and Festive Weekend Brunch

We had the best time taking a break from the holiday hustle to enjoy a leisurely and festive weekend brunch at Edith’s French Bistro. It left us feeling rejuvenated and ready to tackle all the holiday shopping and to dos that were ahead. Enjoying a great meal with the ones you love most is one of our absolute favorite ways to spend our free time. Especially during the holidays, and Edith’s is the perfect place to do just that!
